What does the enemy think he has taken from you?
Though he slay me I will hope in him ... Job 13:15
This faith-filled statement was uttered by Job in a terrible time of pain and suffering. Job had lost his 10 children, his health and his wealth. His friends had turned against him and his wife offered no support. Job had lost everything except his trust in God. Job was a man grounded in God's goodness and glory! In fact God himself said Job was "blameless and upright, constantly mindful to live in a righteous manner." (Job 1:1)
Enter Satan...
Satan insists that Job is righteous because God has favored him and blessed him generously. He believed that given approval by God to inflict pain and suffering on Job, Job would curse God and change. God allowed the enemy to attack and Job loses everything!
The suffering makes Job anxious and scared. He begings to wonder why God in heaven would allow good people to suffer and evil people to thrive. Job continues to cry out to God; he recognizes God's infinite power and love for him and refuses to curse Him. God intervenes and restores to Job all that had been taken away plus MORE!!
The same is true for believers today. Satan will seek to destroy our trust in the Lord. He will inflict pain and suffering in hopes that we will curse God! Friends I encourage you to be like Job. In the midst of your struggle cry out to God and do not lose hope in Him. Recognize God's infinite power and love for you. He will restore to you more than what the enemy thinks he has taken away from you!
