You are Perfect the way You are

To often I believe what the world says about me.  My size is too big, my face has too many wrinkles and my hair is too gray or maybe not gray enough, my lips should be bigger, my waist smaller!! Do you hear these things too? Do you believe them? In a world full of vanity it's hard not to.

A while back I was not feeling that great about myself. I was on medication that had caused me to gain weight and I did not like what I saw in the mirror.  My grandbabies were over and wanted me to sit on the floor and pretend play in the "Serengeti" using toy dinosaurs as the wild beasts that live there. I said to my oldest grandson, "Ace is to big and fat to sit on the floor!" He jumped right up and walked over to me and in his sweet six year old voice scolded me! He looked me in the eyes and held my face in his tiny hands and said "Ace! Don't say that! You are perfect the way you are! God made you perfect!" Then he proceeded to hug me as tight as a six year old can and whispered in my ear "I love you Ace and so does God!"
OUT OF THE MOUTH OF BABES!! Wow! What a reminder of God's perfect love for us.

There is a song by Rachel Lampa that I like and listen to. Some of the songs lyrics are: " Who said that you weren't beautiful that you don't belong in your own skin?" ..."So many little words, so many little lies that have followed you all of your life. Think about those lyrics Friends. Think about those words whispered in my ear by a very wise six year old. God has created you in HIS image and He loves you and me just the way we are!
While I know and understand that my body is the Lords temple to care for and protect and there are things I can do to make it better, I also know that He meets me where I am and I am perfectly loved. So are you my Friend; you are perfectly loved by your creator. While the world shouts "you are not enough". He whispers in your ear "I love you, I  created you and you are perfect".
